Whyyyyyyy....

So I submitted a video to Geek and Sundry Vlogs because they are looking for vloggers and opened up the opportunity to everyone which is cool. But now it turns out they are basing it on public feedback (like, the channels with the most feedback make the leaderboard), and while that is not definitely the determining factor, it is super discouraging because there are going to be so many bigger channels than mine, with more subscribers and people to give feedback.

I know that I'm being stupid, that it makes perfect sense for them to open it up to public opinion, to people that would watch their channel, but I just feel like I have no chance now...

Anyway, I haven't given up or anything, I just wanted to rant a bit and be slightly irrational...

But you do have the the yttalk mafia on your side. I'm just watching the video and will leave some feedback. Maybe some others will as well :)

Personally i think you would be better off just doing your own thing and in the future if anyone big approaches you and asks you can decided then. Thats just me though, i just want like that feeling when someone big and famous or someone who ive looked up to views my stuff and loves it, ive had it twice now and its such a good feeling

You should look at this as a promotional opportunity and nothing more. By basing their decision partially on public feedback, it means fans will be a lot more active in viewing/commenting on videos, which gives you a better chance at picking up more views/subs on your channel.

Haha thanks. It's really annoying that I have to get people to go to their page and not just get people to watch it on youtube. Like the feedback has to be on their site. So confusing. I have the video and the link in my signature now, not sure how much that will help, but oh well. :)
Yeah that could have been a good opportunity. :(

I'm sorry, do you want a hug ? :)
I'm not going to lie, hugs are the greatest.[DOUBLEPOST=1371721511,1371721368][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah, that's an excellent point. I didn't think of it that way.
