Why YouTube

I couldn't think of a better name so I just picked my name, Robert Powell, and added TV on the end. I wish now I could of thought of a better one but hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles. I started the channel initially as a way of trying to force myself to get fit and hope that I would get some motivation from the Youtube community to keep me going towards my goal of being able to run and finish, the London Marathon next year. Since then certain health issues have gotten in the way of that, so I have turned to trying other things, until I am able to continue. Once I am I shall do both. At first it was a struggle to have the confidence to be infront of the camera but I am slowly getting more comfortable and getting the fun element back out of it. I now have started another channel, a gaming one, to run along side it. Long may the fun continue

The name ShiftHappens comes from when I used to play Counter-Strike a lot. For those of you that don't play games, you use Steam to play it and it has a feature where you press a combo of keys, them being Shift + Tab to bring up a layout where you can do various stuff.

Well, in Counter-Strike you also use Shift to walk so enemies don't hear you and Tab so you can check the score. Whenever I was the last man, I would usually just walk so my enemy couldn't hear me and press Tab to check who was still alive, but of course I would forget about the Steam overlay which would pop up and eventually get me killed.

So that kinda gave me the idea for the name. The "Bro" part on my Youtube channel was due to Youtube not letting me use "ShiftHappens".
