Why you should NOT trust (some) giveaways.

True :/ But honestly, no1 would give away a console in this time of economical crisis xD Would better keep it or sell it xD Seems logical to me ;)

I did a giveaway once. I did actually give something away though. In all fairness, it's not really much of a scam. You're not losing anything by entering a giveaway and there is a possibility that you'll get something out of it if it's genuine.
A scam as you're loosing something, no, but if they aren't being fair to actually give away something to a real person, they're still basically scamming you.

Well there's no for sure way to prove whether they are lying or not, is there? I mean, just because someone has a youtube channel doesn't mean they are poor. A $60 investment might be a good way to boost your channel.

But yeah. I'm sure there are people out there who don't actually have what they promised. The flaw is that subscribing isn't a permanent deal. You can easily unsubscribe after the supposed contest has ended. No harm done.

Well yeah, I know that having a small channel doesn't mean you're poor, but I know if I had really small channel, I wouldn't fork over a game hoping to grow it lol

KGATV This has made me wish to rant about something that happened at the beginning of this year.

I had started a channel with my friend (who's no longer my friend) and he said he was going to do a giveaway, i was like okily dokily, because me being me i would legit give something away if i was doing one, it was his gift to give away but we both made a video about it together..
When the prize was due to be announced, he pulled it back and said "Sorry, i forgot i used it" (the code) to the viewers and told me it gave us some subscribers at least. I. Was. Furious. More than other people most likely, and i left him in the lurch, left the channel, and i'm no longer his friend.
I detest people who do this ****, friend or not, and it made ME look bad after i was really nice to the people who took part.
:banghead:

Haha I held a small contest and I gained just a hand full of followers. I used a random number generator to pick a person and the winner was the kid that sat behind me in my English class. I felt kinda weird giving him the prize, but I guess it was fair.

Well, KGATV, Bob just got a lot of dead subscribers. But I agree that giveaways aren't to be trusted, and since they won't benefit Bob too much, they really aren't worth anything.
