Why would someone with 900K subs start losing subscribers per day?

YouTube do take away inactive accounts sometimes, this causes a person to lose subs. If this guy has all these inactive subs, then possibly thats why he is loosing more now then hes gaining. His video views is also quite average for his sub count.

Yeah, and almost all of his videos for the first 20 seconds are of him sponsoring something, which isn't the best way to get people's attention

You guys are looking in the wrong place. Look on social blade and focus on their channel box. It reeks of sub for sub channels. Their daily view count is very low for that sub level. We did those numbers at the 35k sub level.

So I should ask him if he will sub me if I sub him and hope to one day have lots of subs that don't watch my stuff too?

Think bigger. Ask them to plug your channel. Tell them they'll lose even more subscribers per day if they do that.
Yes but I make that promise to everyone.. No one will take me up on it because they don't believe I can make more people leave then are already leaving.. Shoot I wont even plug my channel on my own channel.

that is crazy but for that many views and subs, he at least should be getting 200+ subs per day.. something went wrong there.. .

I think you have to take in account these measures. The guy started making videos 6 years ago. In that time most of his 933k subs will go inactive, YouTube deletes these inactive accounts so he is probably going to lose a lot over this time. Also, the guys videos feature a lot of sponsors, which many viewers may find unappealing. He also I believe used to do sub4sub, something which was very popular back in the early days of YouTube. To be honest, the topics which he does cover are kind of boring. Not many people are into celebrity news this much anymore. They mostly just watch the normal news.

Is it a possible suspicion that he might be view/sub botting based on the sub to views per video?
No, lol not at all. Like others have already said in this thread, he's just kind of going nowhere and people who liked him back in 2010 (for example) don't want to watch him any more 3 years later on and they unsubscribe. It's normal to lose that amount of subscribers everyday when your channel has almost a million subscribers but he isn't gaining any new subscribers to cover the loss sadly.
