I Love YTtalk
Why would you even entertain the idea of monetizing your videos when you get absolutely no views? Ads on videos people barely want to watch in the first place is a good way to turn them off forever, especially when your combined total revenue with 32 videos is likely under 5 dollars
I thought about this question when we started.
Why monetize our channel when the videos are for kids, and we only got 5 views per video for the first 20 videos anyways?
And my reasoning was - YouTube is a business, not a charity. They want to make money. They will promote those channels that earn them revenue.
They have no vested interest whatsoever to promote videos and channels that don't bring in revenue and result in costs (bandwidth, storage, support).
As an oligopoly, YouTube do not have the thinking of "Let's support all these up and coming non-monetized creators out of the goodness of our heart".
That's why you monetize from the word go. To show them you want to make them money, so they promote you and make you money.
This doesn't even begin to take into the account the argument of why should we as creators not earn income for our time, skills, resources, etc.
