I always wanted a Crombie coat me but I dont think I would look right in one at my size.

It's called nerd-chic. I think, but don't quote me here, Chris Pirillo was one of the first. He wore this type of glasses back in the TechTV days, this pre-dates YouTube BTW. But ya this isn't a YouTube thing.

Fashion, they try and go for the whole "Nerd" look despite the fact they are from from nerds. Its stupid and I dislike the fact that some people do this but I do like the glasses. If they actually wear glasses and bought the design fair enough but there are a lot of YouTubers who dont wear glasses and wear these for the sheer fashion.

As someone who works in the glasses industry, yea the larger darker frames are in at the moment. Largely thanks to Ray-Ban. I wear specs because i walk into things if I don't.

It's definitely not just a Youtuber thing, that particular style of glasses is just what's popular lately.
I recently bought new glasses and that style and the variations of it were pretty much the only thing available in the men's section of the store I went to.

Yah i tend to get a bit annoyed when i see someone wearing them and then notice there arent even lenses in them, i mean come on at least get them with the glasses complete ya know lol.
