Why join networks?

I've Got It
Ok so, when I was starting out on youtube, I wanted to join a network just so I would get paid, but I realized I was pretty damn wrong.

Right now, if I think about it, all the networks do is take a percentage of your money, and sometimes it's as big as 40%!
Networks promise things such as " 7$ CPM " when in reality, the max you'll get, will be about 2.50, or at least, that was my max, maybe that's because I'm not in any network?

Can you guys tell me, WHY did you join a network? Aren't you just losing money?

Everyone that brings up networks at the early stages of YouTube is focusing on the wrong thing. There is a reason why networks promise more subscribers, views and money. Because they are banking on weak minded individuals. There are plenty of large YouTubers that do not go with a MCN because most they do is take, and give little in return.

this is exactly what i meant

the 2 best reasons I found so far ,

1 - if you become too popular, trolls can actually close down your adsense account by botting your video. The networks can prevent that from becoming an issue.

2 - if youtube denied you an adsense account, you can still participate through the networks account. which is good for people overseas that are not in google adsense territory.

Otherwise, I have not found any other reasons I consider good. I've seen my cpm with a basic adsense go way higher than network suggested cpm... I may not have a large audience, but apparently i have a small but quality audience. Not complaining either, i'd rather have 100 fans than 1,000 trolls lol

Fullscreen has a bunch of "Apps" including free music libraries... I use music in every time lapse, slow motion, and mountain biking video so it's helpful to me. When I threatened to separate from them I tried looking for royalty free music elsewhere. I ended up staying because most of the royalty free music sucks! I also have used Spreadshirt which is also free as a Youtube partner. Fullscreen also helps settle Content ID claims pretty fast. Without the music I don't think I'd stay though....

We got partnered with FullScreen, so far I haven't made much money only because we are still a small channel and that's why I only do youtube for fun. I've been happy with the apps that they offer and are very helpful.
