Why is this video's earnings so low?

I posted a video the other day on my channel, and it got 35,000 views in the first 2 days. I made $17 from 35k views, does that seem normal? If you want the link to the video, just let me know. Thanks!
 
Well your earnings depend on how many of those people who watched your video watched your ads. If you have skippable ads I think it's if they skip before 30seconds you don't get money from that.
 
Hmmmm.. it's just weird because I posted a similiar video a couple months back, and it got more than $1 per every 1000 views. This is more like $0.50 per 1000 views..
 
I know for some people July wasn't a good month, but CPM will vary, there are too many factors to define normal.
 
If a lot of your views are coming from a country that doesn't have high-paying ads, that will affect your CPMs
 
It depends on where the views are from, whether the person actually watched the video (didn't just click on it and close it), how long they watched for and if they have ad block on or not.

I also heard July wasn't that good, just like January isn't usually that good.
