Why is this happening?

How do 75% of people watching get bored 10 seconds into the video and leave? LOL -- I guess it must be that people thought I was Dan. Maybe it's normal to have a lower watch time when people come from suggested videos?

That's absolutely not normal. You may want to design your thumbnail in a way that it's absolutely clear you are a different channel. Anyway if people click away early your content is not engaging enough. It's as simple as that.

That's what I just said.

That.

what.

Yes normally suggested videos retention is a bit lower depending on what the video is about.

Roblox and Minecraft let's plays are the worst offenders of this.

Gotcha. Thanks guys. I probably have to change up the thumbnail a bit, I'm just realizing now that it looks a lot like Dan's. Also, If you look at the pictures I provided, you can see that after the 75% of people left within the first 10 seconds, the same 25% of people still watching seemed to watch almost until the end of the video, which means they enjoyed it. That must mean that those who left at the beginning thought it was another one of his videos, haha..

From what I can see in my analytics, yeah, usually suggested videos give less retention if compared to YT search/browse views.

You loose most of the people in the first minute. If they are still there after the first minute they'll drop off again after 3-4. At least, that is how it goes with my content.

It's unfortunate but sooooo many people will leave in the first few seconds unless you've hooked them quick with something worth watching in their eyes. People just get very easily bored nowadays and are hesitant to give videos a chance to prove themselves as good before leaving. Hurts retention time like mad
