Why is my video not full screened when rendered?

I've Got It
Hello I have a little problem and firstly sorry if I got into wrong place about it. Basically my videos are recorded in 1280x800 size now when recorded and viewed they have full screen but when rendered and I made sure my editor ((vegas)) does not resize the resolution but it keeps doing it?

As you cans see it in here:
or any other video from my channel its not full screened, what I mean is that there is small gap of black screen in the right and left corners? Is there anyway to fix it?

Here is a screenshot of a preset in video tab...
Well my question is, next time I render it how can I make sure there are no gaps or should I simply record in 1280x720 resolution?

Thank you!

1280x800 is not widescreen on pixel aspect 1.

Try 1050 x 576

Is your computer screen widescreen?

Have you made sure that 'maintain aspect ratio' is unchecked in the video clip options?
To check make, right cling the clip in the time line and select properties.
And really, you should be rendering and have your project settings a 1920x1080 or 1280x720 (depending on original source and size)

The original size is 1280x800, darn I didnt know the resolution is not widescreen so this is why it made empty bars all the time?

it should fill the while screen if the clip isn't being forced to maintain its original aspect ratio.

Watch Frankie's vegas tutorials to understand more Part 1 & Part 2
They outline everything you need to know to make quality videos

Ah thanks everyone, didn't know I have to get 'maintain aspect ratio' unchecked!

Thanks a lot once again lads!

its a common mistake people make so no worries :)

I find with programs such as Vegas or Photoshop you need to have some basic training on them to make them work properly...

i have a similar problem with my crysis series. but i dont know if the problem lies at the editor or on the game resolution. i always render my videos in 1080p HD. (even though the resolution isnt always that) so what should i do, try to screw around in the settings of the editor or make the game resolution higher?

Try what I have done, right click on the video and go to properties and make sure 'maintain aspect ratio' is not ticked
