Why is it Taking So Long for my Video to Process?

I'm trying to upload a 1 GB, 6 and a half minute video and it's taking nearly two hours. It never takes this long! I don't know why this is happening. I don't want to cancel the upload and redo it because then I'll be up all night waiting. I tried Handbrake, I don't see a way to compress my video to a smaller size on it. Just another problem I'm having this week just making and uploading a single video. I'm starting to think the technology to make YouTube videos is not worth the time and effort of even making videos to begin with.
 
Are you sure you can't compress it more? I uploaded one recently, about 14mins long at 1080p 30fps and it was only around 700mb.

But sometimes a mixture of YouTube being a douche and your internet connection can make videos take forever to upload, used to happen to me all the time when I was doing longer videos like let's plays and stuff, best bet is to set it to private and just let it upload while you sleep and it should be up in the morning :)
 
Well it happened to me too, as soon as the upload finished, the process didnt complete, so I uploaded the file once again, it started uploading at 100%, that means some bytes may have not uploaded and I closed the browser too quickly! And it worked!
