Why I Hate That People Can Keep Subscriptions Private

When you start getting more known you will change it to private

If you don't you get inundated with messages from people asking why you aren't subscribed to them followed with 'im un subscribing from you now'

Its easier to keep it hidden plus i dont really care if people want to see who im subscribed to. If i like another youtubers content i will be sharing that content anyway

Hmm, I don't know, maybe because people want to privatize their subscription list and don't want others to know who they watch/other personal reasons that quite possibly no one other than themselves know. Just a thought, but giving that thought the full potential.

I keep who I'm subscribed to private because there's no upside of making that information public, but several potential downsides, most of which have been mentioned in the thread by the others.

I'd also add, by publicly making who I'm subbed to public, I'm giving away free advertising and outward links to those channels on my channel. Not something I want to be doing

I like to keep mine private because I am worried of judgemental people looking at my subscriptions.

The only reason you'd need to hide them in that case is if you're just self-conscious about people judging your tastes.

I'd say there's a limitless number of reasons to keep them hidden, but what you've said there basically sums it up for myself. I'm horribly self-conscious, haha. While I would love to see who has subbed to my own channel, I won't get upset or bothered with not knowing, everyone has their own reasons and I respect that. If they're enjoying my content, that's enough for me I understand where you're coming from though, don't get me wrong, it's just not something that I care too much about personally.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of good replies. I'm not really bothered by it anymore because you guys brought up a lot of great points. It can be a little annoying, but it's not exactly the end of the world or anything.
