Why does export time take forever in Premiere Pro CS6?

A 10 minute video takes 4 hours to export. I have an intel i7-4770S CPU @ 3.10GHz and not even 45% percent of the CPU is used during exporting. It just takes such a long time. My export format is H.264 1920x1080 29.97 fps, 2-pass vbr bitrate 6-9 blabla. What should I do to make it faster?

What are you using to edit and export the videos? That might have something to do with it.

I don't know what you mean, I said I use Premiere Pro CS6

Try going onto settings and check you have a decent amount of ram allocated to it aswell that might fix it, premeire pro is a ram muncher

hmmm I'm not sure that sounds odd, I have 5gb dedicated to premiere pro and i'm on a amd fx 6200 and get fine rendering speed, the only other thing I can think of is perhaps you're rendering 4k video or something huge?

Do you have a dedicated GPU? IIRC Premiere Pro benefits from Nvidia's CUDA Cores.
