Why do y'all want to be big on youtube?

I want to make it so that I can finally start paying back my mother for all the money she invested into me when I was s**t kid. I don't like having to rely on her more just because I need food. So yeah. Im only 18 so some of y'all will be like well that's normal. I still don't like it. And also because it sounds hella fun. Wow I just said hella.

You should apply for a scholarship dude, pretty sure you'll get something out from that.

For me I don't plan getting huge on youtube, I do it just for the hell of it. As an animator its nice getting notice online but we're really not making any legit money. Most artist use the web for exposure and hoping an art studio contact us for employment. So yeah, I'm just here to get a dream job.
 
Moved this here for you, I would love to have a large channel because I love the feeling of entertaining others with my creative work and seeing it being appreciated makes it really worth it for me.
 
I would love to be able to reach more people and connect with them. I recently got a comment on a video saying that I'd improved someone's day, and I want to be able to do that for so many more people

are you from Northern California? I used to hella say hella when I lived there.

I doubt I will ever be "big", but I have a few ideas that I think will do pretty good coming up.
 
I had been out of the house for nearly 30 years so paying back my mother wasn't anywhere in my thought process. 6 years later, my thoughts are more like, I'm glad to be in the position to take care of my parents, if need be.
 
Well I'm not necessarily trying to be Big on YouTube but more so established enough. I still mainly do it as a hobby. But why I do YT......its fun and I like to interact with others online whether good or bad.
 
It's a hobby. Too bad there are way to many people with delusions of grandeur on YouTube nowadays. It's ok though, people with delusions of grandeur will more than likely end up with the rest of em. At the bottom of the pile.

I do it for fun, and if it where to go somewhere... well... Good for me! if not? Good for me! I am still going to have the same amount of fun with the 1.7K subscribers I have now as I would with 100K+

I actually like the challenge of growing a channel. The whole process of experimenting with new things, seeing what works, what doesn't work, making adjustments. I've always had an entrepreneurial streak in me and been interested in marketing, particularly online marketing so YT was a perfect activity for me.

The money is nice - I'm not going to lie but I try to keep that as a way of keeping score rather than a direct goal. I wouldn't recommend doing YT for money if you need money coming in any time soon. Some channels will never make any significant money and those that do, it takes time. There are much easier ways to make stable money than YT so I wouldn't recommend relying on YT for money for at least a year, maybe more and maybe even forever.
