Why do Small Gaming YouTubers gain so slow?

I don't do too many Let's Plays, walkthroughs, playthroughs, etc, since I mostly focus on gaming skits and sketches and those are a lot harder for some random gamer to be interested in which is what's attributing to my low growth.

As a gamer, you can try posting your videos on google plus, reddit, shout out to game companies on twitter with hashtags, post on facebook pages, etc.
 
Youtube seems to give views a higher weight than search terms. When I type the exact name of one of my vides on search box "Garrosh Hellscream 25 man" , I end up finding things like so and so's guide to Garrosh Hellscream, or even "Garrosh Hellscream 10 man guide" even though my search included 25 man. Youtube doesn't believe me that I know what I'm searching for. :D
 
Yeah there's a lot of competition on youtube because gaming channels are a popular thing now so it's just hard to get notice but if its meant for you to be big you will get big ^_^ if not welp just do it because you like it :P Do you think some of the youtubers that are on top ever tough they would get big? Nop some of them where just doing videos out of fun and all the sudden blam! a lot of subscribers and viewers came :)
