Why do people hate on small channels?

It's usually the approach people take. If someone asks for genuine feedback, I'll take a gander at a video or two.

I wouldn't say hate, It's more or less taking out a million piece puzzle and scattering it onto a small table.. some of those pieces will fall off never to be seen again, some of them will be noticed and then over looked, and then you will have those that pick up the piece that they were looking for which could be your channel!

It's all in the way you present yourself and advertise. Plus, as mentioned by virtually everyone, all sized channels get hate.
I do agree to a certain extent that some people may see your subscription numbers and make comments about how crappy your channel must be just based on that fact. "No wonder why you only have 2k subs blahblah" That happens to me all the time, but people are just trolls!

You clearly have no idea how much hate PewDiePie gets and hes literally at the top. LITERALLY!
But yeah its naturally harder for small channels to grow these days.

I don't think it has much to do with your channel size, but if it seems like you're 'spamming' comments sections the you are kind of making yourself an easy target for trolls etc but its a give and take situation because the more you promote the more you open yourself up to both the good and bad responses. its something that everyone goes through though so don't let it worry you too much!
