Why do I suck at Youtube

I know this inevitably will be seen as whiny or whatever, but I really don't get why I seem to suck at youtube. I've been on the site for a few months, produced 20 videos with about 1 per week, but I have only 22 subs. Whereas, there are tonnes of people who barely post once a month, have only posted half a dozen or less videos, but have at times double my subs and views. Why?

Channel art, tone of voice, personallity , content, schedule, tags, naming. Could be any of these just look at your videos and evaluate yourself :)

Make more friends on Youtube.
It's only when I reacted and became part of the community did I start gaining some ground. :D
 
Do you promote yourself at all?

Consider making shorter videos... Like way shorter. Like under two minutes. I can't sit here and watch a 8-minute video on exams...

Your camera presence is a bit awkward, unless that is what you are trying to be. It's like you aren't sure of yourself, it sounds like you are whispering, and it feels weird to watch.

Just sayin'! Don't get butt hurt...

Sorry, I tend to be unnecessarily honest sometimes, but at least it's better than, "Don't worry you'll gain subs soon, just keep what you are doing..."

The main reason to even make this thread is to find out some reasons behind the lack of activity on his channel. Clearly something he is doing right now is not working. I thought I should just say what comes to mind as I tried to watch his content. :x32:
