why can't I edit my channel description?

I'm not sure why but normally when I edit my channel there's a little edit icon near the description itself...now it's gone? Go ahead, check your own channel and see if you can edit your description. I can edit video descriptions etc but my channel can't be edited. Does this have anything to do with the new layout that they're trying to implement or is there a different way that you're supposed to edit it now that I'm just unaware of?

I think this is related to the missing Video Manager/Analytics buttons at the top that was talked about in another thread.
 
Same problem here, can't edit anything in my Channel home page, I can do everything (analytics / videos manager) but nothing on my Channel page !
 
YouTube is having problems lol.
Not being able to edit channel, can't click on subscribers or views, views being audited. It's all a big mess right now.
 
At the moment Youtube is on Read Only mode, so you can't upload or do any of the mentioned things.
 
theyre testing it or making changes for the new lay out that is getting closer.. thats what i think
 
I found this out earlier as well and am gonna be really irritated if I can't have a background which makes my channel stand out on who I am because I am not partnered thus can't use a banner. If they're gonna do this crap, at least let non-partnered channels use banners as well so I can make one and slap it on the top.
