Why Are People Pretending the Rules Don't Apply to Them?

In the states it didn't really start being enforced until the 2000's. No, you may not have my age as this account is a multi-user account used by the Social Media Department.
Fair enough. Sorry to tell you this; but in the US it was definitely the late 70's early 80's. I know because I got hit with it for my own kids, who are all adults now.

By the way; just what is the "Social Media Department"?

Social media department is a department to First Order Entertainment that contains all members of staff in control of the social media aspect of FOE...IF you want to learn more message us so that we don't take the topic off course.

Because a lot of it probably falls under fair use

We're talking about things that absolutely do not. People who want to put full football games online. People who want to play complete albums on their YouTube channels. Those are just two examples of things I came across just today.

Ah. Well, in that case, yeah, they have no right to monetize that stuff for themselves

In my view the rules apply to everyone, nobody is excluded from the rules on YT. Because, at the end of the day we don't own the site. We are the everyday users using their video sharing service. 1 sub or 1 million subs, should make no difference when it comes to the rules in my opinion.

Amen to that!

However there are times when YouTube actually gets it wrong, and someone is excluded from the site erroneously, after a failed appeal. Those times are rare; thankfully.
