Why am I Yellow and Dull???

You can also try CFL's for your lamp in the livingroom. Those are the spiral lightbulbs (Compact Florescent Lights)
I'm using spiral energy saving ones right now... Is that what you're talking about?[DOUBLEPOST=1389076362,1389076200][/DOUBLEPOST]
I don't personally use any professional equipment, as I just use a lamp that I have in my living room. I then edit the white balance in my video editor. I need to get some better equipment though. I don't know much about wattages either.

I know soft boxes are good. Having at least 2 (One on each side) will create an even bright lighting.

Also lighting that projects light directly, not behind a shade will work very well also. The lamp I use has a small version of this that I am able to move around.

Is something like this ok?

have you used these?

We have similar bulbs, but as part of a lighting set. If you're looking to save money, try the bulbs by themselves first and then add diffusion and more complex stuff as your budget allows. The bulbs don't look that harsh when you use them without diffusion (softbox or umbrella), so you might be able to get away with 2 bulbs set at 45 degree angles from where you're standing.

Ok thank you :)

I know that there have been posts previously about lights and such but this isn't entirely about lights. I am in need of some help. My past two videos were filmed in a bathroom with vanity lights and the lighting was perfect. My most recent video was filmed in my living room with 60 watt bulbs. I am wondering why the video comes out dull and yellowish. Is there anything I can do? I have a 1080p camera. Do I just need better lights and backdrop... If so what are the best lights I can get.
Change your white balance :)
