earning wise, yes. They reap more money, but sometime to think about is that with most Big networks ie: Maker, Fullscreen, Machinima, etc. they all have copyright licensing for stuff like this. Thats why you see bigger channels getting away with Gaming and Cover songs

The thing about machinima is that they have so many ridiculous restrictions. They basically own your channel after you sign with them

Don't listen to the guy above, not any one network has any sort of "licenses" to allow the posting of gameplay.

Currently being with a network allows you to bypass monetization review which is why you can get away with gaming more than without a network.
But you are still fully open to Content ID claims and strikes for the developer/ publisher.
