Who Agree's that you should always backup your youtube video content???

Tonio

I Love YTtalk
Like if you agree what i am saying:) I agree that if you are dedicated to your youtube work and no matter what network your partnered with one youtube you should always make daily backups of your videos. Why do you think cloud services and hard disks are available for use and so expandable??? Never no in the case of a disaster you can recover it and also keep it somewhere where only you can access the videos.

I agreed, with the price of USB HDD's today there is no reason to not have a backup of your vids. I don't trust YouTube with my content I have it all backed up.

We actually don't bother. Most of our drive space is dominated by videos that we've shot and still need to edit. We have footage for over 500 episodes in reserve, so it takes up a crap load of drive space.

i know thats right i got mine all backed up as well as soon as i upload a video to youtube my intentions are to always organize it into a folder immediately. Truth be told not everybody thinks as smart as we do because with some channels they do not think to do it!

I mean have you checked out a cloud storage called adrive it's convient and gives 50 gb free of back up space and even then when you edit your videos on whatever software you use you can always replace the old video file with the new one. i mean its just my advice

If you know the right people within youtube, you can get your videos back even if someone breaks into your account and deletes everything. We have over 1600 videos up on youtube right now-not including what's scheduled, so 50GB won't even come close to holding it.

I'm not sure how far I want to go with backups, I don't really see a need for it. I haven't yet filled my 1TB drive so for now I just leave the videos where they render to. By the time I actually fill that I'll probably be able to burn blu-rays if I care, but odds are I'll just start deleting stuff.

I've made over 600 videos, and currently have around 550 (deleted a TON of my amateur content from 5 years ago when I came back to YT). I've never had a problem with one of my videos disappearing. I'm not saying no one will, but I haven't. I do think you should keep a backup for a week or so, just in case someone comments and points out something you messed up in the video and you want to change and reupload it, or the upload fails for some reason. I wouldn't just delete your local copy immediately upon upload, but I wouldn't keep them forever either. Just my personal preference, I know a ton of people use cloud storage to save their videos permanently! :D

Yes, I back-up all of my videos. It is a good precaution plus if I want to use a portion of a previous video, I have the file handy. I try to not leave videos on my hard drive once I am done making a video.

Each one of my videos is about 2 to 3Gb, I already have 300gb of raw footage on my HD but I agree putting my videos on an external would be a good idea.
