Which YouTuber videos have you seen way too many "Jump Cuts"

Hey Guys

I am writing a piece on the use of "Jump Cut" edits used by various youtubers and was trying to find some good - Bad examples, where it has been really over done.
I know of heaps of channels who use them effectively however I know I have seen some videos where it is really really over done but can't for the life of me remember who / where I saw any of them now.

Its a bit of personal taste I guess but can anyone think of any they have seen by chance that they felt was way too "Jump Cut" together?

Cheers
Craig

YouTuber LisBug has been pulled up on jumpcuts by her audience though personally I don't mind their inclusion; probably because of her personality. For context, she's Shane Dawson's girlfriend which can't help her channel views!

Jenna Marbels is the queen of jumpcuts, they do be mid sentence sometimes :D

I really don't mind them at all, never saw a problem with them

I can't think of any particular ones on the top of my head, but almost all vloggers use them. Some can get away with it IMO with their personality, and some just do it every 3rd word for the sake of it. I have been told ray william johnson overuses them and jumps from one side of the screen to the next, but I don't watch him so I can't confirm or deny it.

Do they do it to make it more interesting or because it takes so many takes to get one video right so they splice it all together.

Little of both I'd say. I try to do may rants/discussions all in one take. If there's a need for a cut-away gag then yeah, but otherwise, it feels more real when you're doing it on the spot instead of going back and editing this and that out.

But then again they have a viewcount and subcount I'll probably never have in my lifetime, so who am I to say anything. Obviously it works for them.

I think I was irritated the first time I watched a vlogger because of the jump cuts but you get used to them so quickly. Then again, if there are too many it definitely gets annoying, and once you're focusing on it, you can't unsee ;) Jenna Marbles is horrible in that regard and I wonder why she does it so excessively sometimes. I don't think she lacks the ability to string a sentence together. And it's not that she edits out the 'fucks'. :D

I was like... jump cuts?! wtf?

And then it made sense after I read some comments. All my videos are jump-cuts I suppose. On my car review videos I use other footage of the outside of the car to mask them most of the time, but it is what it is. It depends on your style and how you vlog. Vlogging in a car means you are driving first, and vlogging second. I shut up when I need more processing power to my driving, or just randomly when I blank out. There are times I go for quite a while without interruption, but that is rare.

That also means that I am not phased by jump-cuts at all.

I don't have any subscriptions who abuse jump cuts as I don't follow any vlog centric channels. I use jumpcuts when I end up recording footage with my camcorder when I stop and start so it doesn't look sloppy. A simple 0.5 second crossfade does the job.
