Which mic should I consider getting?

I'd go with the AT2020 myself, but then I'm not a fan of USB microphones. Be aware that "good" microphones come in either USB or XLR for connection type and you will need an appropriate interface for each. Also ensure you look up whether the mic requires phantom power or not.

I would also counsel against relying on a pop filter. They certainly can help, but if you play with the mic position you can eliminate popping that way as well. It's all about learning how to use your tools properly. Generally having the mic positioned about a hand width in distance away from your mouth at an angle roughly in line with your cheek. Talking directly into the mic forcing air to impact with the mic diaphragm is what causes the pops.

So I couldn't plug it directly into my laptop?

Would it have one line for plugging into my laptop and one line for plugging into the wall?

Like said before Avid M Audio Producer USB Mic is awesome mic. I would choose that if I were you.

Just did a quick little bit of further research. I didn't realize Audio Technica had done a USB version of the AT2020.

Just make sure you get USB, not XLR. XLR requires an extra interface which while you get far more options in using, does of course add to the cost.

And no, the mic would never plug into the wall. Phantom power is a bit different and it's the audio interface that controls that power signal.

My blue snowball picks up no noise except for my voice! :)
I can hear noise Olli, but then I also have an ear trained over time to listen for exactly that. You're also too far away from the microphone which is the cause of the room echo you have. Keep the Snowball around 6-10 inches away from your mouth and position it slightly off to the side so you're not talking straight into it.
;)

Thanks for the tips mate! I didn't knew the correct distance, I'm just afraid it's going to be too screamy now and I talk quite enthusiastically?

Like Olli, I use the Blue Snowball, simply for financial reasons. I don't have enough for a Blue Yeti, but it is definitely better than the Snowball. Just depends how much you can afford.

Love my blue Yeti. Sounds awesome, and the only noise I really worry about is picking up my banging on the keyboard through the desk. Adjusting the gain as low as I can helps with most other ambient noise.
