Which Hard Drive to record to?

i don't know much about how caddys work but if it goes through USB then i would not recommend it, USB is slow, compared to an internal SATA or IDE cable(which is what connects your HDD to your motherboard)
Unless ur using an eSata, usb 3.0, Firewire 800, or even the thunderbolt connections... dont bother using an external for any type of recording. Keep ur hard drive clutter free, bloatware free, not to mention spyware and malware free and u should be fine even with a 5400 rpm hdd ~_^ i haz no probs recording full 1080p at 30fps with my 5400 rpm hdd :p (macbook pro)
