Where were you after one month?

So one month ago today I started my channel. With 10 subs and about 150 video views I've hardly set the world on fire but I wasn't expecting to. Where were you after one month?
 
I made my account on the 14th December, but didn't use until I uploaded a video which was 30th December, and I've got 12 subs and 471 video views D:
 
I wasn't very far along. I didn't promote, heck I didn't know how to promote. That whole build they will come thing didn't work for me. It works for some, but not me. I'm a little shy but I realized that I'd better start promoting this thing if I want views and subs. So, my advice is as long as you think you're making quality content move on to the next step read some of the sticky's up at the top of this forum and get promoting. From optimizing tags, to social media, to joining forum that support your style of videos, handing out cards in real life with your YouTube channel on...etc. Some people don't have to work that hard for viewers, others do. You might not have to work hard for viewers and subs in the future but you do right now. I hope this helps.:)
 
Not very far at all. I think probably only 30 subscribers or so. We didn't really start gaining subscribers consistently until recently (almost a year later).
 
after a month 13 sub and 500 view's not extremely bad, but I have been lazy with the tube and university starting to tickle my feathers with course work, reports, reports and more reports
