Where to promote videos

Promote on your own social media accounts. If you don't have accounts for your channel, make one on each of your favorite social media platforms. Follow relevant accounts in your niche and comment on things, contributing to the community there. Post to your own page when you upload new content. As you gain followers or have more recognition in your niche from your comments/tweets/whatever, eventually some people will check out your stuff.

Is there really not a subreddit for indie horror games? Seems like there should be, hmm. Reddit is not really an option for my type of content, but it can be a good place for youtube gamers if you post strategically and don't exceed their self promotion ratio.

Thanks for the advice I just started to promote on twitter. And yea they don't I thought that was kinda dumb too

Usual social media avenues - twitter, facebook groups, several forums and google plus. I have one video which has over 2000 views in 3 weeks but others which are quite low, sometimes you'll get lucky with tags and popularity etc. It's tough to build a following !

Sadly, there really is no way to properly promote without looking like a "scumbag." I guess the best alternative is to show your friends the video. Pray they watch it, because only one of 5 friends I send my videos to watch what I send them. Thankfully the one I send to actually gives their thoughts on the video as well.
I don't think I look like a scumbag when I promote in most places because the content is fitting. Plus I share other people's videos with these pages so it's not only my stuff. I guess it's easier when you have dog videos though as most of the dog communities are very accepting and dog owners love sharing their pics and videos with each other. I guess some of my methods come off a bit scummy, but I could care less.

Twitter is usually a good place to promote your videos.

But usually just being active on other people's videos and showing your face, can also be a good way to promote your channel and videos.
