Facebook & Tumblr for dog videos. Facepunch for my videos that will appeal to a tough crowd (you will get a lot of hate if your content is not good and post it to Facepunch!) I've seen people come running back to this forum asking me how to delete Facebook posts after getting bombed by that forum lol! They hate self promotion if it's not an awesome video.

I currently only promote my videos/channel on twitter at the moment, im fine with it at the moment

Tumblr is a really good way to promote videos. I know this might be hard for some people to fully understand, but usually the smaller the community (like yttalks), the more likely your channel will get exposure. Twitter can be pretty difficult but possible if you promote correctly. I recommend joining other communities related to your niche (your channel's genre).

I have no idea how to use tumblr, how do you promote on it?

Pretty much the same way you post on twitter or what not. Just the community is more focused on videos and pictures. I recommend adding a bunch of people related to youtube, gaming, vlogging or whatnot. Usually they will follow you back and be able to see the content you post on your blog. Just an easy way to get noticed.

I post on Twitter tumblr i have a facebook page Vidspoon here and i promote a little on younow, younow has got me a ton of loyal subs but the majority of my promoted views come from twitter saying that i am most active n twitter so i think its about staying active and involved
