Cool! A word of advice though, try to be active on those social medias also because people probably don't want to see just self promotion!

My way of being active is posting regularly through out the day so yeah i definitely know what you mean. Im just not too sure about Instagram. I don't post hardly any photos.

I used to run a music channel and on the Instagram page I would post pictures of nature/other cool looking stuff and the caption would be an inspirational quote or a link to one of the songs, while I can't really recommend this method it did help me to get my first 1k followers, in other words it doesn't have to be selfies or anything like that you can post pictures of anything related to your channel!

But couldn't I just do that with Twitter as well? What differs between the 2? I mean i can do the same things with both sites right? Using both recommended?

Its all up to you! I have nowhere near as much knowledge on twitter and instagram as I do on YouTube however so I cant say for sure whats better

Me either. Both sites can do most of the same things. Maybe it comes down to what people use more over the other. I'm not sure.
