When is it PROPER to add an edit into your video?

I made a screen shot that might give you an idea of what to do for a simple webcam overlay!

  1. Go to Media Generators > Solid Color > And drag a nice color to your video track
  2. Press Event Pan/Crop
  3. Hold CTRL and drag the edge of the screen and make it smaller
  4. Drag it to the corner of your video
  5. Add your webcam and make it slightly smaller and center it on the orange rectangle.
BOOM, you sir just earned yourself a webcam border!

Hopefully you understood my guide!
I'm hungover so I'm going to take a shower, in the meantime tell me how it went when you're done!

It's understandable but uh...
I think I could just add in a colored box or even make it shift colors in OBS! It's basically the same idea, just shortened! Thanks though man
 
I wish I could answer this properly but there isn't really a way that I can haha. For me it all comes with natural instinct or comparing to what other youtubers did and trying to change it a little.

Yeah all of my random, silly edits have come from the heart. I felt them at an exact moment and I was like omg. yes. So I added them and I laugh at them. Pretty sad. I laugh at my own content so what. lmao
