When is it appropriate to make a colab?

I'm just curious what you guys think. I don't think someone that JUST started should do one just because they should develop their channel and character and style.... or do you guys disagree?

usually when u reach 100 subs, u can collab, but if u reach 500 subs, smaller youtube channels will beg u to COLLAB hahaha

Doing collabs for me is great regardless of your size! But personally, I would wait a while until I established myself a bit more and got used to the whole YouTube thing before doing collabs, it is also much easier to find people to collab with the bigger you get.

I don't see what the big deal about having enough videos or subscribers is. I'll do a collaboration with someone who has 1 video and no subscribers. When I used to belong to an (now obsolete) online community of artists, I was happy to mentor n00bs. Maybe YouTube grows peoples egos more than being popular in that other community did

I don't see what's wrong with a collab early on if you know the person that you're collabing with. Otherwise it may get awkward ya know
