When is a good time to quit YouTube

Ok guys so I've got a question , when do you guys think it is a good time to give up on the YouTube star dream 3 month ? 6 month? 12 month ? 2 years ?

What are the signs of a growing channel ?
My video views and likes go up each day not much but they climb ... I've started earning cash from the videos aswell not a lot by any means

Just curious as to how a successful channel should be looking at different time scales and when to call it quits ??
 
Personally I say never give up, just don't make it your main focus, you need to make sure to live the rest of your life too.
 
Honestly? There is no scale.

You've heard about viral videos right? For all you know, something could happen within the next 2 hours that makes your video go viral. It could even be 2 years, you just never know.

Just keep going at it as a hobby for the time being. When you hit that video that makes your channel popular, then happy days.

Don't quit though. Everyday the YouTube home page has to be filled with featured videos, and you never know when yours could be one of them.
 
Being realistic here, Youtube has a tendency to stop us from "striving" for other things in life. I think you shouldn't quit it, but that being said you have to be realistic here. Just like there are people who will never be able to run at a competitive level in life, so will there be people who won't make it on youtube. It's no exception from anything else out there!
 
I'm workin hard I'm managing a lot of things and this is the most fun to do ... I'm happy with my channel growth over the short 6 weeks I've gained 140 subs and over 11,000 views ... I don't consider this bad at all .. I'm gonna stick at it till I do get featured and make viral it's a personal goal
 
When you lose happiness in it. If it becomes a hassle to you to do and your love for making videos is lost, what would be the point of continuing then?
 
If you're thinking about giving up with less than a year to your channel, youtube might not be for you. I've been doing this since 05 and the fame was never important. It's all about doing what you enjoy. I guarantee if you become famous and you don't legitimately enjoy making videos, your fame with be short lived homie
 
I would say.. If it's a real "dream" of yours to become youtube famous or let's just say popular as it's getting harder and harder to be "Famous" then never give up. Branch out and do some promotion on social networks and stuff, start to build a fan base, maybe even try and branch out from gaming videos and have a second channel for vlogs and what not as gaming channels normally have to have a second channel for talking about your life. Fans will want to know about you and what you actually look like not just your voice and the way you speak while playing a game.
