When do you write a script?

Hey everyone! Hope your doing well!

I don't know when it's a good idea to write a script for a video and when it is not. I feel like you come across as more real if you speak from the heart. So at the moment I am not using scripts, but this obviously leads to deadends in some cases.

What do you guys thinks? Script or no Script?

Sometimes a script can be usefull for people that have problem getting the words out (stuttering, euhmm-ing) and it still can be natural even alsong you just don't read off your script the whole time

I write outlines for our list videos that have facts or phrases I wanna say. That's closest we ever get too scripting anything. I personally thinks that way works well because you can have the natural way you speak while keeping on topic without sounding like you're reading a script.

Always write something down. Write down notes or key points you want to touch on.

Write a script if you have an elaborate idea that requires you to get all the scenes perfectly.

It all boils down to WHAT you're doing honestly. If you're doing a skit, then yes, use a script. If you're doing a talking video, where you talk about something, I would suggest that you use a script as an outline, or just write down the main ideas of what you wanna talk about. :D

I never fully script anything, mainly because I stutter when I read and cant remember lines.
I tend to use bullet points and fill in the words between, that way the talking is structured but still sounds and feels natural.

I never write a script. Bullet points all the way. I plan for my videos like a speech or presentation, but with more improvising.

Plus I have a really really bad memory, so memorizing a script would be unnecessarily stressful.

I guess when I say an outline, I guess I mean bullet points as well... XD

I have scripts for all of my videos because I am a fact telling channel, so i have to read off the facts. I am, however seeing that I am not screwing up as much when recording and I am getting better at ad-libbing. I would recommend having a script until you are comfortable.
