When do you get the first four spots in the suggested video column "booked" for your channel?

Hey guys,

so I noticed that on my partnered channels the first four spots on the right side, in the suggested videos column, are always filled with videos from my own very channel.

Now I started an entire new channel, it has ten videos, about one hundred thousand views and 100 subscribers, but on the suggested videos column there are just videos from other channels.

Do I get featured in the first four spots only if I'm partnered or is there some kind of threshold I have to reach (i.e. publish 50 video, reach a million views, etc.)?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think there's a chance of monetizing being one of the deciding factors, but let's see if anybody else can chime in with more precise info

I honestly thought it depended on the type of video - like, with my Smarter in Seconds series, a fair few of the other videos in that series will be suggested as the titles start the same way. However, with my travel videos and other non-educational content, I find it's kind of a mixed bag.

Did you mean partnered with mcn or youtube? Im with youtube and the first four spots are usually reserved for big youtube channels with similar content. I think the suggested spots have more to do views and channel size for related content, and less to do with partnership.

I'm going to guess this is similar to an earlier question you asked here:

I don't know the official answer but my initial thinking is having to do with the watch time of your other videos, much like Crown mentioned in his reply.

Kinda similar question, but not exactly the same. In that thread I was asking about getting the entire suggested video column filled with your vids after uploading a new video (which is a temporary feature), in this one how to get the first four spots in the suggested video column for every one of your uploads (which on a couple of my bigger partnered channel is a permanent feature)

I meant both, and thanks for sharing your experience, I actually noticed that now sometimes I get the four spots so as you said it might have to do with the increased number of views and their retention
