When Companies Notice You

Yesterday, I was contacted by a rep from the company that makes a hairbrush I reviewed on my channel, asking if they could link my review on their Facebook and Instagram pages (I said sure, they haven't added them yet, but here's hoping). For my efforts, they're sending me another brush. Cool!

Have you gained the notice of companies you've talked about in your videos? Gotten sponsorships out of it? TOTALLY SOLD OUT FOR THE MONEYS?!?!? Ha. Let us know how you're becoming a media mogul.
 
I totally used my YouTube and social media experience to gain a leg up on the competition with my supplement sponsors. In this day in age companies are far more likely to notice you for your social media engagement over content quality.

Nice! Free stuff is always cool. GoPro wanted to license this video and even left a comment on it calling it nuts. To have a channel with almost 4 million subscribers that posts crazy a** people doing crazy things calling my video crazy was, well, CRAZY lol! Unfortunately I can't even monetize this video and I can't license it because of the NHL trademarks, I actually contacted some NHL attorneys and they said I could post the video as long as it's not for commercial use (so no ads and no licensing). DAMN IT!

Haha well good for you! At least you got a free brush of out it and maybe some traffic towards your channel. So congratz on that!
 
At the moment I'm contacting companies but this is a big aim of mine to be targeted by any kind of company.

Congrats on reaching that level, bet it's a right buzz
 
That's so cool! I've not had anything like that, I don't really talk about many products though so to be fair it's a bit of an unlikely thing to happen.

Yeah, I almost never review specific products, and I'm very careful about claims that are made by any product, since there are so many terrible messages that are sent out by companies on YouTube and Instagram about what their products will do.
 
Congratulations on getting contacted and getting a free brush, that's pretty awesome man. Getting your reviews on their sites is hopefully going to do well for your channel in terms of publicity.

I haven't been contacted by a company for my videos as of just yet since I'm not doing any product reviews or talking about them but I did get given a free shirt by a local apparel company that they want me to wear in my next video which is pretty sick :)
