When can i call my self a Pro Minecraft player?

yeah but she also does make a good point about the earning a living i didnt think of it they same way she did :D

Doesn't that mean that anyone who just got into the business is a professional? I always thought it meant that you had exceptional skill at what you do, getting paid for it or not.

Well a professional is someone who does something to earn a living, so you can call yourself a pro when you don't have to get a job because of minecraft. If you want an exact number, let's say that the minimum you want would be staying out of poverty, which is considered $11,945 a year in the US. So basically you need to make $995 a month. And in that case you'd be nearly impoverished.

i would say you have to have skill yes but also being paid from like sponsors maybe or like utube pays you and other on utube love you doing it and they say your good at i dno

My dad knows a lot about professional gaming. I actually just had a short discussion with him about what makes you a pro, and he had a pretty good opinion on it. He basically said to be considered a pro you need to either have a degree in what you do or have considerable skill in it. Novices can still earn money off what they do, just saying.

So? It still doesn't nullify the fact that the dictionary states a professional is someone who earns a living through their craft or talent.

Well, by the logic of these guys, if I get fired from a job after years of getting paid and making a living off of it, I'm not a professional. If I'm amazing at what I do but lack a job for it, I'm not a professional. It's not all about getting paid, it's about being recognized for your skill, in my honest opinion.[DOUBLEPOST=1376756656,1376756605][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well, if you do everything by the book, so be it. I'm going to go deliver newspapers and be a professional deliveryman, talk to you later.

Like Frankie has said to you guys a Professional is a person who gets payed. People call themselves pros at things but it really means you earn money for doing something. It doesnt matter about skills as a Professional Basketball Player playing in the NBA is pro because he is earning money while a person who is about to go to college and even better than the person in the NBA is not a pro.

Go grab your dictionary and see what the definition of "Professional" Is, and how does one actually be considered a pro minecraft player anyway?
