When bad videos do good.

Did you search for it or did you see an article on one of the dog sites? Most of the views are from articles, I didn't really concentrate on my SEO on that one because I didn't think it would get very many views. (Going to channel to improve SEO now!)
Sorry I can't remember. I just know when I saw your stuff via YTTalk, I recognized the video.

I think this has to do with people expecting different things than well-executed videos on YouTube. For the most part, people look for everyday regular people uploading whatever on the site, so those videos tend to do best. My biggest hit is still just a tour of my apartment when I was working overseas. It's taken with a terrible camera, awful lighting, and it's really (to me) boring, but it gets hits and comments all the time, even 9 years after I uploaded it.

Really? See I find that weird. All my youtube subs on my personal account are entertainment channels.
They either produce animations or do comedy sketches or social commentary.

I guess Im just too old, but I cant get into watching vlogs of everyday lives like that. Unless I know the person outside of being a random YT vlogger or the person has a really interesting life I just cant follow.

Has this happened to you?
Indeed. Namely I threw together my Ace Attorney parody with little care towards the line quality or backgrounds and to date it's my second most liked video of all time (309).

There's also the ideas that are ridiculously simple and finished in under a day's work (like recoloring something that's already finished or throwing together a montage of still work) that does (almost annoyingly) better than the stuff I've spent weeks on.

What's annoying is doing it again "on purpose" never yields the same results. Like damned if I spend time on it, but damned if I rush it on purpose too. Haha. So goes YouTube life.

As of right now, I'm uploading 2 videos a week, one of which gets about 15-20 views, the other getting 5-10 views. Way back in the day, I made a dumb little video of a flash game called Papa's Hotdogerria and it's gotten over 1,000 views and I don't know why o.o

That's the closest I've had to this situation XD

my magikarp video though at the time I was really proud of, I've worked an awful lot more on recent videos but nothing has outpaced it, only recently has my twitch video started to overtake it in daily views but not total.

then again I still find it really hilarious that coming near 6 million people have watched one of the silliest videos I've ever made :P
