Whats your filming technique?

Have no fear in recording my Let's Play gameplay and audio-only rants and personals in one take (I speak freely and without staging it all). Audio is cleaned-up, a few tweaks to video presentation (edits, intros, outros, music) and boom - a new video (not forgetting rendering and uploading!).

Scripting videos? My god, I can watch TV and movies for fiction - I want to hear the real personality of someone, more so on YouTube! :p

For vlogs where I go out, I take super short clips of different things: the cars as we drive, rain, trees, walking, people...that kind of thing but for talking vlogs, I usually take my phone and start speaking and then I edit the video later but if I mess up the entire video then I retake the entire video.

You can record a video on 1 shot and try zooming in a little every now and then in any editing software you use. Or you can record at 2 different angles and alternate but it isn't necessary. Most of those people you're talking aboiut usually have more than one camera so it's easier to change angles without having to move the camera around.

Well, I feel like what I do on youtube has A LOT of time consuming steps so here we go:

-I record my gameplay and take notes in point form as well as write down the time stamps so I can find what im talking about in 3-4 hours of footage.
-I then write a script that is 1200 to 1700 words (this gets me between the 5-10 minute range, not too long, not too short)
-I read out the script many times so I have multiple takes of each section so I can make sure I usually always have a good take
-I set up the audio before the video in Premier and then edit the video around the audio
-I find a way to turn 3-4 hours of footage into a 5-10 minute video
-I add some faint background music, set up my end-slate and done.
I have always thought that audio comes after video! This could be game changer for me...

My process as a vlogger who talks to the camera (no fancy outdoor takes or anything yet): I have a few topics that I want to talk about in mind, but I don't script it out (although I do come up with some funny lines in my head before hand). I shoot the entire video in one take, but if I realize something came off poorly, I will just repeat it better. My videos are usually about 3-7 minutes, and I try to record about 10 minutes, knowing I will cut less good stuff out.

Once my video is recorded, I edit cut out whatever doesn't work. I also try to cut out a lot of my awkward "ums," "has," and other verbal ticks that drive me crazy. Once I am happy with the video, I lay in the background music (same tune every time) and the end card.

Hope this wasn't too boring! :(

I point the camera, ask the kids what they're going to say, then when they are ready I hit record, and they say something completely different.
