What's the point to joining a Multi-Channel Network?

@Kleineganz I also have instant monetization just through Youtube's partnership program so that's why I was curious about why people choose MCNs. All the websites' info seemed really vague and honestly kind of shady.
Yeah same here. I see no point to joining an MCN and I absolutely refuse every invitation I get. I prefer sticking to just YouTube / AdSense.

The only reason im going to join a MCN is for Paypal and lower payment threshold. Of course the audiomicro is nice along with tips on descriptions and tagging.

I have Instant Monetization and I'm not with an MCN ...

No, you don't. Network Partnership instant monetization is different at least until the affiliate changes go in. All Adsense partner channels are subject to the Adsense review which certainly can approve very quickly but it's not the same thing. Barring ContentID matches, nothing right now prevents monetization of a network partnered video. Adsense monetization of a video on the other hand can be denied or sit in review for an extended period without an obvious reason.

I'm not saying that this is superior for every channel, but don't delude yourself into believing Adsense and Network Partnerships are identical in this regard. For now.

I'm gonna assume that instant monetization is only really beneficial if you have a large viewer base. I don't have any monetized videos up right now so its not really one of my concerns.

It depends. I would go a step further and say it's really only important if you do time sensitive content (news, tent-pole, etc). The vast majority of earnings comes from the first week a video is live, barring viral content. So you want those views monetized. If you don't have instant monetization and it's not time sensitive, then you upload it scheduled or private so it goes through the review, then make it live after it's approved.

Its good to be here in its infancy, I remember you telling me about the camera and the lens cap was closing at random wasnt it?
Well since January *all* my videos on all 3 of my channels get approved as soon as I enable monetization. Before then, I did have some gaming videos stuck in monetization limbo for weeks or months. I don't know why that change happened, but I like it.

From my understanding, monetized videos rank better in search, etc., which is why I monetize mine.
