What's the point of Youtube if you don't succeed in the end??

So i've been thinking about this a lot. I am a gameplay comedy youtuber and i put in A LOT of time into making my videos and spreading the word i have been doing this for about 9 and basically i have gotten from 0 to 200 and that may sound good but its really bad considering some youtubers get from 0 to 500 thousand subs in 1 year (Whiteboy7thst) and i get like 1 sub a week. so my question is what is the point of youtube when you work so hard on it but get nowhere in the end. I am still doing youtube because i enjoy editing and making videos and i have a fear that , that will be gone eventually.

Fun, it's not about being succesfull but about expressing yourself. If you like making videos and share your thoughts you're doing a good job. If you're goal is just being famous and wanting money than you better quit YouTube and search a job.

Some people forget that youtube actually is a video sharing site to share your thoughts and creativity.

Just uploaded by JDTheGuru what youtube means to him.
So has everyone has their own story, but it never goes about making money or becoming famous.

For one thing, sometimes it takes time to get discovered. WheezyWaiter said it took him more than a year to get his first 100 subscribers, yet now he has almost 400,000. Maybe you just haven't been discovered yet. Just something to consider.

I guess your right i do enjoy making videos very much.

Never give up on something you love. The more work and heart you put into your videos, the better they'll get. People admire those who our independent and our themselves. The more you continue doing your thing, the more people will admire your work. Great things always come to those who wait. Your already successful for being so passionate about what you do, so keep it up! :)

Its a hobby, its like saying why play football if you wont make it to the world cup or why ply tennis if you wont play at Wimbledon. That can be said for a lot of things.

I can relate to you. For me though it's this feeling like something is not right that takes away my motivation. I gain about 1 sub a day, sometimes more sometimes less, and yet my views keep going down. I'm not sub for subbing, using social networking sites, botting, or doing anything other than uploading content, so these subs are random and real, yet I get less and less views each video... this makes me feel like I'm beating my head against a wall. Feels like even if my channel grows, it's not really growing.

And while I'd never quit, I'd make videos for 15 people if that's all I had watching me. But at the same time, I'm not excited like I was. If I was watching my views match my sub count, and seeing that my channel legitimately was growing with a real returning audience, I'd take my videos more seriously and be excited to put them out. But because of this "more subs/less views" thing, I'm just kinda... I'm not excited about my channel like I should be :(

just keep uploading and make sure your videos are tagged, the views will come.

If you are desperate for subs try tutorials, they get quite a few.

I don't personally believe that is the best attitude to have about it.

Define 'success' success to me is being proud of what I make, to enjoy the process, and reep the rewards of whatever may result from it, if I've made one person laugh/comment/like then surely it's been worthwhile and a success in itself :)

Make videos, because you love to make videos, that's a success in itself.

I think it sucks a bit that you can get copyright strikes for just music, because if we were allowed to use music without copyright notice I think we could do alot more and make more creative videos.
