What's the average time for a Let's Play?

So for a Minecraft series I should do it like this:

Record and start to play and do V/O for 10minutes
Stop recording and upload video
Play without recording for a while
Next video start by explaining what you've done and play again for a little 10 min,
Upload again

Will that work? Like this you advance faster and people don't have to watch you do useless stuff..

For me the fastest way to do it is to record an hour or two play session and just split them into parts of 10-11 mins each. That way you produce more activity plus explaining what you've done previously every single part would get monotonous and boring. Just my 2 cents pennies. :p

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention: you might want to cut each playsession to 30 minutes depending on the size of your hard drive (mines 2TB so I don't have to worry) but if your hard drive is big enough to handle those Fraps files then go with an hour. :)

If your computer has enough free space you could just record for as long as you want, then edit them down to 10-15 min episode, but cut the grindfest out (if there is any). That way you don't miss potential random fun things

I'd suggest doing it all. Make regular scheduled 15 minute videos, random 5 minute videos and occasional 30 minute videos (once your account can upload them)

Depends on the game. If it has decent sized levels, it's stupid to cut the episode short if you only have a little more to go before you reach the boss. Also depends on how awesome the game is, cause if it's a really good game, I'd watch the whole half hour video.

I would say the maximum amount of time you would want to do a Let's Play for on average is 15 minutes, but it's okay to have a couple episodes that are 10 or 20 minutes long

I do the same but sometimes this is bad because: if your commenting in real time, you will eventually get tired or not sound quite as expressive. It happens to me after about 30 minutes. If i record for an hour or 2 and split it up it makes the episodes after the first 2 or 3 sound a bit flat. I get around this by doing custom voice overs in the first minute of those episodes, removing the real time commentary and replacing it - which helps a bit.

Basically i dont do it this way anymore, because for me its too much work.
