What's most important in a video?

Passion for the content found within the video. Given time, a lot of the other stuff can be learned, but if you aren't filming videos you are passionate about... you're gonna have a bad time.

Quality is important to me because it lets me know that whoever is making the video really cares about it enough to put some time and effort and he/she wants to give people a good video!

Retaining the viewers attention is the most important, otherwise they will click-and-ditch! Make sure you're entertaining and personable and people will stick around!

It's gotta hold my attention.

After that, it should have good sound and picture quality.

I don't think I could say 1 specific thing. I mean you can have the best content in the world but if the audio/visual quality is bad it won't get as many views as it could. Yet you could have the highest quality video but if there's no real content it won't get watched.

I'm gonna go with the "there's no one true answer to your question". :p

It really depends on your type of channel.. but I would say

1) being passionate about your own content
2) knowing why your audience views your channel/videos
3) showing quality and consistency in delivering that content

are 3 very important guidelines in my opinion.

For my channel, I know what my audience want to see.. and luckily it happens to be what I enjoy doing and producing. I might vary my content to a certain degree, but never too much. Again, mainly because I wouldn't enjoy it myself and it would be a reason for me to stop watching other channels that I used to enjoy.

I also happen to watch a lot of gaming channels.. and for that, the following is important for me:

- good video quality
- clear, informative and to-the-point commentary (voice and actual info),
- it should be about games that interest me
- and lastly,.. a good sense of humour helps a lot! ;)

The most important part for me is the thumbnail as this is what the viewers will see before they open the video and it pretty much decides if the audience clicks the video or not.

The most important thing? There are a lot of important things that all work together to make a good video what it is. In Batman's utility belt he has Batarangs, Grapple gun, Cryptographic sequencer, Bolas, Tracers, Smoke pellets, Gas pellets, Line launcher, Tranquilizer gun, Glue globules, Lock pick, Rebreather, Laser, Pellet grenades, Concussion mines, Explosive gel, Thermite grenades, Napalm, Taser, Remote electric charge, Stun pellets, EMP gun, Disruptor, Remote claw, Sonic devastator, Freeze grenades, and Kryptonite. Use all of the tools at your disposal in your tool box as you can. Don't argue with Batman.

Point being? Try not to focus on one or two big things but the twenty or so things that make a good well rounded video what it is.

Video needs to keep u hooked, its way better to cut out the boring parts and have shorter video than leaving it there.
If its boring, you will click away.

The story - you tell your viewers a story. If it is boring they will simply stop watching and never come back. Video, audio, special effects - everything this is secondary.
