What's more important? Realizing the two aren't mutually exclusive and that you don't have to choose between them.
i have to think it is subscribers, this coming from a success is not gaged by profits, subscribers show that the veiws are turning into repeat views. I am a little concerned that I have almost 500 views and 17 subscribers. I cant help but feel that those 500 views did not like what they saw... insecurity i suppose. How bout a subscriber that views your channel's content regularly? Active subs > One time views.
Exactly I would much rather have loyal subscribers that comment than people who watch one video and never give me any feedback.I really think neither matters, if your fanbase isn't genuine.
As an example, let's say Bob has 50 million subscribers, and gets about 1 million views a day on his gaming videos.
Wade has 5 million subscribers, but he receives, on average, 3 million views a day for his gaming videos. Which one of these YouTubers is better? Some would argue that Bob is because he has more subscribers. However, Wade's fanbase is more dedicated in watching his videos, despite his lower subscriber count.
So, really, it doesn't matter. I like to see comments far more than seeing views/subscribers go up. While I do appreciate every view/subscriber, it's nice to hear what people think of the video, rather than just leaving a like.

I don't make youtube money so to me its kind of irrelevant. Plus it shouldn't matter how much money you make on YouTube it should just be for fun.your youtube money is directly proportional to how many views you get....
