What's it like being a big Youtuber?

Kind of a broad question general. But I was wondering what it's like to be on top of the Youtubing gaming. Ive always dreamt of being up there myself. Moving to Seattle, being around a close circle of friends while having a amazing girlfriend that could outplay me at everything. Unfortunately, it seems kind of a distant dream with a broken bridge, but just to give me some fuel, what's it like up there? And do you have any tips? Youtube is kind of a last resort. I was forced to drop out and I have several medical issues that make it so I can't get a job, (It's Georgia, very rough work) but I don't quite qualify for disability. Anyways im rambling.

What's it like being at the top, and do you have any tips to help others climb to the top?
 
Create original content (not following trends, just play around with ideas), Endlessly promote your own content on forums etc, and make friends on YouTube and ask around to get others to help. Trust that you wont make a living on YouTube for a VERY long time. Not alot of people actually do. And if it is, it's a poor mans living.

They spend every moment editing, creating, and generally get trapped in their own content.

TLDR: Keep plucking away at it, and make your way up the slow chain. You gotta stand the test of time. No quick fixes to YouTube.
 
Well I get out of breath when I have to use the stairs instead of escalators.

Fan girls often make comments about how ugly and fat I am at conventions when they think I can't hear.

People tend to say a lot of things behind my back because they are afraid I will throw them out a window if they dare insult me to my face.

It's quite often hard to find trousers that are long enough but also the correct waist size.

And also it's a pain in the a** on public transport because there is never enough leg room.

That's what it is like for a big youtuber

That's pretty decent advice actually. Though I don't like promoting my content via Forums. Makes me feel a tad bit like a *****, mind my language.
 
Just started this wee so I wouldn't know haha.
But I still believe that making content that you are content with(no puns intended) will attract people who believe the same.

Well, promotion is a slice of the YouTube pie. Until you have others promoting your stuff for you, You need to find interesting ways to do it yourself.

I imagine it's like being a normal human being.. Except you have millions of strangers who are devoted to you and will do anything to help you become king of the world. It's like a big satanic cult really.. YouTube is a cult.
