What Would You Do In This Situation?

Don't take it too personally, man - sounds like you just got caught with a bad reddit infection. Thats the risk of advertising over there.

If you really don't like taking criticism like that and you think you need to stop making videos, then do whatever makes you happy, man. Maybe just take a break first and see how you feel later.

Personally though, if I were you, i'd just block and report them and keep making videos as planned.
I don't mind the criticism. It's just the volume of it surprises me considering how small I am.

And it's just how it all came at once.

I'm assuming these people aren't bothering to subscribe to you so I don't imagine they'll stick around to badmouth your future videos. I think they've probably just been a bit irritated by your message on Reddit, I don't think at this point there's enough of a vendetta to mean the future of your channel is doomed.
Don't let them get to you, your videos are good and you're doing no one any harm by uploading them. Some people just don't feel like they've accomplished anything in their day until they try to bring someone else down.

Reddit's not worth putting your stuff on to be honest. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with you and your videos. Just don't put your videos on hateful sites like that where the outcome is so unpredictable.

I think bullying on the internet is a lot like real life, only amplified. Obviously, in most cases, somebody wouldn't actually say things like that to your face. However, just like in the real world, the more it gets to you the more power you give those a-holes.

If you love your channel and making videos who are those losers to make you stop? I know you're not supposed to feed the trolls, but I personally would respond with "Thanks so much for watching and your feedback! :)"

And remember:

I don't understand how people can be so rude. Stay strong buddy, they are just being huge A-holes. If you really enjoy making videos, just keep making them. There will always be people hating on others. I don't see anything wrong with your videos. Your videos are entertaining and well made. Keep it up!

I have ventured into Reddit before, and I find the place a bit vulgar in the main subreddits. Advertising is a huge risk, so I might as well keep quiet and post some where else.

Google Plus is a good place to start to be honest...

Dont mind Dont mind, those people are just insects who comment whatever theyd like to express their sorry lives through the internet, If you are doing good people would want to bring you down so just keep going foward. Fall down once take 10 more steps foward - but it is your choice to stop youtube or not. If youre having fun why would you let someone rain on your parade?

So since my last upload, I've gotten a Reddit-wide shadowban for some reason, more dislikes than likes in my last video (and I dunno what I did wrong) and I've gotten two threats via e-mail (Update: technically, three now threats and requests to shut down my channel) from people I don't even know.

I'm honestly considering shutting down the channel at this point. It's not the first time this has happened (The threats anyway), and I don't know another channel my size that continues to get the threats and requests to shut down my channel as I do. I'm starting to wonder if I just wasn't cut out to be here...
There's your first mistake: you went to reddit. If anyone is asking to be trolled, there's where people go to get trolled. I've heard nothing but terrible things about that site. I'd say just keep doing you and forget those people. If you love doing what you do on YouTube, then do it. It's not their channel, it's yours. Don't let them win.

I've actually had several (I think 4?) good experiences sharing videos on reddit and zero bad ones. I think it depends on the specific subreddits and what you are contributing to the community. Then again, I doubt people in the subreddits like the Hello Kitty one are out to destroy anybody's day ;)

You know, I believe you're right. For some reason, I was thinking of 4chan (idk why). Thanks for sharing with me, SuperSurpriseFun. =)
