All I can say is that I have an adblocker on one of my browsers due to a few sites I use sending out a lot of annoying pop out ads that have been NSFW (I choose not to use the adblocker on YouTube), but I watch Hulu and still get ads. There are ways for companies to get around it.
I think everything would change. People spend too much time worrying about ads. I'd rather watch a 30sec one I can't skip then have to pay to watch Youtube.
A german company as developed a technology to display ads even if adblock is enabled. They already tested it on the biggest gaming website in Germany. It worked. But they are not using it yet. One of the reasons, there is currently a lawsuit between publishers and the Adblock makers (btw thats a german company two )
Oh and youtube would probably just block out Adblock users so that they have to disable it on youtube to watch videos.
