What works better with you Pinterest or Tumblr?

I've never used Pinterest so I have no experience with that.
Tumblr is great, but like all sites, it can be hard to can followers. If your tumblr is purely self promo, then it won't work out. if you try to blend in with the meme-verse part of tumblr, you might just do okay!

Well on all sites you have to be careful. On tumblr, similar to other sites, if your profile is nothing but promo then nobody will care.
If you can balance out staying active with reblogging and liking, while also promoting, then you will be fine on the site.

Yes I agree, whichever sites you choose to join strictly for promotional purposes will not work. You have to become an active member of each. If I had to choose one site over the other I would said tumblr. They have tumblrs specifically for new youtubers and you can submit your videos there. But if you don't generally like tumblr I wouldn't join just for promo's sake. Hope that helps!
