What will make you unsubscribe a channel?

You see what I did there?
I was giving this some thought today as I was looking through the various channels I am subscribed to, so I thought I would pose the question to you guys as well.

Personally, I will sub a channel for a few reasons. One is mostly because the content interests me. Also, I will sub as a show of support to someone who is supporting me. They post a new video, I comment on it. I spend about 2 hours a day just watching things that I've subbed to show my support. But I'll notice that over time, I am spending a lot of time commenting and giving support, but that person has yet to do the same. I don't question them about it as I don't want to sound like I'm begging for comments and likes, but I do feel as though if I support you, it would be nice to get the same. But once I realize the person has no interest in what I'm doing, or simply isn't showing support in return, I simply stop commenting.

But after a while, I'll notice an increase in videos from this person and NOTHING in my inbox saying they even attempted to check out my stuff, so I simply click UNSUBSCRIBE and move on. In most cases, the person doesn't even notice.

I LOVE THIS POST! I agree with you completely man. Don't get me wrong I will still comment and show support to people who don't even know I have a channel because I love their content. But if someone knows I have a channel and I support/like/watch their videos but they don't do the same to mine after a while then I eventually will move on as you said. I don't usually unsub if they are still subbed to me (oh yeah I check mother f****r) unless they start releasing more then a couple videos a day then I will unsub or if they aren't subbed to me to begin with. Call me selfish but I really don't care...in my mind its common courtesy.
 
I think that is just a good rule of thumb. We are all in this together right? I think there are two reasons to unsubscribe from a channel 1. Inactivity (the person hasn't posted in like 6 months) 2. The persons channel takes a direction that doesn't interest you or the content becomes less and less in quality. Overall I do the same as you I will sit at work (we have lots of down time) and just comment on stuff and like peoples videos to me that has been the best way of getting the same treatment though it doesn't always happen! Thanks man! I was already subbed to you! Your singing and music is AWESOME! I also saw your comment you made on my archfiend response and I was about to respond to it but it disappeared. I just wanted to say I completely agree with you man...couldn't say it better myself.
 
I usually support ANY and EVERY channel that watches and supports me. Its the least I can do. But for the people who come to YTtalk and are like "SUB ME" or "COMMENT" and then don't give anything back... I don't even waste my time. If we all had the attitude that we were entitled to something and just waited for people to support us, but never gave that support in return, none of us would EVER move forward.
 
i completely no what you mean, i do sub 4 sub ti thank people for supporting me but over all i sub to peopled with Simula themed channels who regularly upload interesting videos :)
 
I think its also important to mention that replying to a comment on YOUR video doesn't count as support. Responding to comments people leave you is a common courtesy. Sadly, its a courtesy not everyone gives, which is a shame. When someone you are subbed to uploads, take a moment out of your day to ACTUALLY WATCH the video and let them know what you thought of it.

Over the next couple of days I will be taking a closer look at my subs to see who I respond to on a regular basis, but I'm not hearing anything from them.
 
I agree with all you guys. I try my best to go out of my way and watch almost every video of every sub I have. If they start making things on a regular basis that I don't enjoy, I will unsub. If I have something to say, I try to comment on the video. Even if I don't have something to say, I will try to go out of my way to comment on something they have just to remind them that I am still watching and appreciateing their stuff, but I hate to be the great that just says, "good video". I try to leave valuable comments. On that same note, I appreciate the reciprocation of it.
If I notice someone subbed to me and NEVER leaves feedback or even responds to the comments I leave on their channel... its unsub town for them. I don't expect everyone to watch all of my videos and it is unrealistic for me to watch ALL of my subs videos, but I try daily to watch most if not all of the current stuff. Sometimes things fall through the crack, but always know I am watching. I only expect the same in return to some degree to keep me as a fan.;)
 
Inactivity for more then a few Weeks. While I usually support everyone with a Sub I can`t stand it if an YouTube Channel is getting like now an then an Update. Nowadays it seem that everyone has like 100. Channels instead of one so I don`t see why I should waste my Time any longer.
