What was your reason for making your youtube channel?

I make videos as a way of becoming better at the things I love (acting/freerunning) getting feedback from as many people as possible on how to better what I do; and to keep almost an online diary so in like 20 years time I can see how much I have progressed . :)
 
First: I started my channel because I wanted a change in myself. I am a shy person who hardly ever talked or acted in front of any audience. I always loved gaming and I hope with this I can change while I have fun.
Second: I have dreams of a community. And if I reach some milestone sometime I want to raise money for charity. I want to help people. :happy2: Call me an idealistic or a dreamer, but yep, I want to do this.
 
I originally wanted to start out as a type of beauty channel...but then I realized that I'm not girly enough and I don't know nada about cosmetics and stuffs! So then I decided I'd just be random! I'm random in real life and it's way more fun. I do have plans for some beauty stuff, but it all still has a goofiness to it.
 
aha your "discuss your reasons" almost put me into full essay mode :L i've been watching youtubers for about 4 years, and so thought - hey, i could do that! so i have :pp

I like the fact you have big dreams, and in the end its all about helping people! This is a very nice quality and I wish you all the best!

Originally my channel was about make-up. I wanted to teach people how to apply make-up and talk about beauty. Your not so original 'beauty guru' type channel. Because of my time schedule, work and having to film in daylight hours i've found this quite hard and have slowly bought better equipment. Lighting is next so may begin these types of vids later on. In between I've used YouTube as a tool to play around with different editing styles, some vlogging, some iPhone app's i've played around with... I am still in the early stages and my channel is all over the place, i'd love to find some sort of direction for where I want my channel to go.

I started because I want to teach people, and share my passion's with others. My problem... I have a lot of passions and enjoy a variety of things it is difficult for me to incorporate these all under one umbrella. YouTube is a hobby of mine, but eventually I would like to make videos full-time as a profession. I have a long way to go. And need to finetune my content and improve quality before i am even close to being on track.

It's a long spiel I know :P Ooops.
