What was your reaction to getting your first video dislike?

fun fact in relation to my previous post about comments sucking. I got a request...
...to kill myself
What a lovely community.

Eeeesh! That's not good is it!

I normally look to see the country of origin for the dislike, quite amusing because you wonder how did they get to your video in the first place..

That's true and interesting I always wonder how they get to the videos that we put out as well!

LOL, you know it didn't bother me too much, but since I had no subscribers at that point I did wonder if it was someone who knew me.

They must be very desperate to do something like that then xD I'm glad it didn't bother you much!

Didn't care cause I got 7 likes :D ... Anyways the video wasn't good so I was expecting it

Hey you did get 7 likes which is great for thinking the video wasn't going to turn out!

I got my first dislike a little under a week ago. (I think it was six days ago, but I don't know for sure) And, it wasn't just one dislike... It was two. But, oddly enough, that was the first time that I ever gotten any Likes too! Also, it wasn't just one like... It was two, which I thought was cool, and weird at the same time! So, I didn't feel bad because I focused on those two Likes, rather than those two Dislikes!

It evened out it looks like and it seems you have the right focus which is to look at your "likes" not "dislikes" :D

Wow. My first dislike? It was so long ago. I actually was just like whatever. It was for a video I made mimicking (not very well) popular Youtubers because of an article I read. So far, that video has 9 or 10 dislikes and I laugh because some people don't get the joke.

Some people may or may not understand the concept that your trying to lay out for them in your videos and it may hit or miss!

I did what I always do with data. I analyzed it in attempts to figure out what I did wrong. I do it for ever video to this day. I understand it's impossible to please everyone, but keeping that like to dislike percentage down is one of my priorities when mentally outlining, then creating, and then polishing every video.

I literally have the image of a thumbs up/down when creating or even brainstorming what to make. My natural tendency to attempt to please everyone is probably at the root of this habit. While, this model is not for all, but it works for me because it is me :p

I get more insight from a dislike than a like, and I have improved more because of the dislikes I have received. Can't say I'm very happy with my most popular video which is my worst like/dislike ratio, but at least it's a good example of tagging and titling haha!

Very cool I do see your efforts in trying to keep it old school and attempt to please everyone and it really is the most difficult way to go about things when making videos because you'll always want to figure out what you did wrong? This is really difficult to inhibit because it will always drag you down even though you may do great! I applaud you in your effort for keeping in that focus and I hope it turns out really well for you!

I got on my first day of having the channel 2 dislikes on the same video.
Oddly enough, even now, after 3 months I didn't receive any more dislikes but 23 likes for that particular video.

Maybe someone saw the potential of my channel and wanted to bring me down before I grow to strong? :)

You know what that may really be true.. if someone sees that you may become a strong channel they will do whatever they can to jump on you to get to the next level and smash you to the ground!

I really was strong willed when I started getting my first dislikes, I knew it would happen, and I tried to ignore it, but they are not nice :p especially when you get so few views it really stands out well, but no matter how many views someone gets, they always have to have those dislikes. yours truly, Oscar off of TheGamespire :)

Right.. no matter how many views you will have those dislikes and true that it's not very nice! It really can go either way with likes or dislikes depending on the quality of your videos and your audience that your trying to obtain!

If only haha!

I wasn't too bothered when I got my first dislike. I felt a sting, but I also have more likes so that makes up for it. :D If only you could see who it was that disliked. :sneaky2:

I didn't really care. People have their own opinion. Instead of giving me an insightful comment on why they didn't like my video, they press a button that gives me no information except a number. Dislikes are not something you should be affected by. Comments and people that take their time to express their opinion are way more important and impactful
